Network Test

The official Americas FAQ for The Duskbloods Network Test Ver. is the source for this page. The test is not a demo. It uses in-development data to find bugs. Playable content is only part of the full game, and some specifications may differ from release. You need a Nintendo Switch 2, an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, and persistent internet. There is no separate test fee listed. Status updates come from the test website, in-game notifications, or FromSoftware’s English X account @TheDuskbloods.

A gaunt Bloodsworn in a tattered gold-lined coat aims a long rifle while a cloaked ally kneels with a straight sword against a pink dusk sky.

What the FAQ is for

This page answers the first-party questions players actually asked on the campaign FAQ: demo versus test, retail differences, requirements, streaming, friends, saves, status channels, redeeming a download code, and error codes 2813-0040 and 9001-0040. Session blocks and application windows belong on the Network Test operations page so this FAQ can stay reusable after the August 2026 dates. Japanese official terms stay in the glossary.

Nintendo’s US store pointed at campaign. theduskbloods. jp for the global network test from August 21–24. The FAQ is the rules layer under that banner. If a question is not in the official FAQ or manual, this page does not invent an answer. Bug reports during the test went through the account-page form; retail support is still Nintendo and FromSoftware, not this wiki. Session blocks and application windows belong on the Network Test operations page so this FAQ stays reusable after August 2026, and Japanese official terms stay in the glossary rather than being restated in every answer.

After the test window

Application, selection, and download dates are on the Network Test page because they expire. The answers on this FAQ — not a demo, partial content, NSO required, no capture, no friends, no save carryover, redeem errors, English-only @TheDuskbloods — remain the first-party rules for that build and the context for what retail is planned to add. Friend blood-pact matchmaking is the guide’s retail note, not a test feature you missed.

House of Night still lists Ranked Match even though only Casual was playable. That is a hub fact, not a hidden playlist. Ports in the manual are for the test’s online-only stack; they are not a promise that retail uses the same list. If you are setting up a Switch 2 for the 2026 product, the store’s NSO and no-cloud-saves lines are the ones that remain in the current identity.

Unlinking the campaign site from a Nintendo Account during apply or play could revoke eligibility. That warning is for testers, not for this wiki’s readers after the window. For account and billing problems you still go to Nintendo support. This unofficial site cannot redeem codes, reset NAT, or file FromSoftware bug reports on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

Is the network test a demo?

No. The official FAQ states that network tests are technical verification during development. Testers play in-development data so FromSoftware can identify bugs and errors. Bugs are expected, and you may not enjoy the game to its full potential. It is not a demo build of the retail product and should not be judged as one.

Does the test match the retail game?

No. Playable content is only part of the full game. Some specifications may differ from release. Miyazaki’s retail roster is over a dozen Bloodsworn with customization; the test locked six kits. Ranked Match is in the hub menu and was not playable. Friend blood-pact matchmaking is planned for retail and was absent from the test.

What do I need to play the test?

A Nintendo Switch 2, an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, persistent internet, and the Nintendo Account you selected on the campaign site. Participation lists those requirements; it does not list a separate test fee. Online play in the retail product also requires NSO and a Nintendo Account, and Save Data Cloud backup is not supported on the US and UK listings.

Can I stream or post screenshots?

No. Posting or streaming videos or screenshots of the in-development title is not allowed. The Nintendo Switch 2 Capture Button is disabled during the test. Use the official films on this site instead of captured test footage. Status about server issues is posted on the test site, in-game, or on @TheDuskbloods in English only.

Can I invite friends?

Not in Network Test Ver. The FAQ says you cannot invite friends to multiplayer in the test. The gameplay guide adds that retail is planned to include matchmaking already in a blood pact with a friend you invite. Bloodbound Alliances in the test still pairs strangers through matchmaking rather than a friend list.

Does test save data carry over?

No. Save data from Network Test Ver. will not carry over to the retail version. The test is online-only with autosave. Leaving a multiplayer session and closing the game may incur a penalty. Treat the test as a rules classroom, not as a character you will keep.

Where are server status updates posted?

The network test website, in-game message notifications, or FromSoftware’s official X account @TheDuskbloods, which the FAQ marks English only. Login failures can mean you are outside a session window, the server is having an issue, or your network is unstable even if a browser still works. NAT types other than A or B are called out as poor for this online play.

How do I redeem the download code?

Use Nintendo Store on a PC or phone, or Nintendo eShop on Switch 2. Error codes 2813-0040 and 9001-0040 mean the code was already redeemed. Check the HOME Menu for a The Duskbloods Network Test Ver. icon, or open Virtual Game Cards for the user who redeemed it and start the download from there. Unlinking the test site from a Nintendo Account during apply or play may revoke eligibility.
