First Blood

First Blood is the prize Bloodsworn contest during the Twilight of Humanity. The Duskbloods is the collective name for those Bloodsworn. Japanese first-party copy writes 血族 for Bloodsworn, 始まりの血(ファーストブラッド) for First Blood, and 人類の黄昏 for Twilight of Humanity. This glossary opens those terms and the match vocabulary that sits under them: Dusk Battles, Virtue, Lands of Dusk, House of Night, Kin, Sigil, Goldblood Stake, Powers of Blood, and the grail’s Moon Blood Bestowal. Open a name for the first-party definition.

A Bloodsworn leaps between a gothic cathedral and a clock-towered city under a bright moon, rifle in one hand, with chimney smoke rising below.

How these terms lock together

Bloodsworn are summoned to a Land of Dusk for a Dusk Battle. They compact with Kin, carry a Sigil, spend Goldblood Stakes, and manifest Powers of Blood. Virtue is the score the grail reads. Phases II and III cull. Moon Blood Bestowal is the final three-player fight where moontears flow for one. House of Night is the hub between matches, not a land. Keep Network Test Ver. labels on operations pages; the current product identity is the 2026 Switch 2 listing.

Interview names such as Destined Rivals were still being finalized in Creators Voice and are not extra glossary slugs. Weapon names live on Bloodsworn kit pages because they are bound to those six records. This page is terminology, not a database of unpublished remaining Bloodsworn. Keep Network Test Ver. labels on operations pages; the current product identity is the 2026 Switch 2 listing, and interview names such as Destined Rivals are not extra glossary slugs.

First-party terms

Twelve terms follow as progressive disclosure. Japanese readings sit beside the English where Creators Voice or the campaign guide supplies them. Spellings that become URL slugs elsewhere on this site all have first-party evidence; media-only nicknames are not listed. Expand one term at a time. The rest stay collapsed so a phone screen can still show First Blood at the top of the page.

Bloodsworn

Player characters empowered by special blood. Miyazaki describes a romantic vampire concept rather than horror monsters. The Duskbloods is the collective name for Bloodsworn. Japanese first-party copy uses 血族.

First Blood

The prize Bloodsworn contest during the Twilight of Humanity. Japanese copy writes 始まりの血(ファーストブラッド). Nintendo US store blurbs tell you to become a Bloodsworn of Dusk and compete for First Blood.

Twilight of Humanity

The end-of-humanity event when First Blood flows and Bloodsworn are summoned across times and places. There is no single fixed era. Japanese copy uses 人類の黄昏.

Dusk Battles

The four-phase multiplayer match for Virtue and blood bestowal. Eight Bloodsworn are summoned and culled by the grail until three fight Moon Blood Bestowal. Japanese copy uses 黄昏の戦い.

Virtue

Match score used to survive culling and enter the final bestowal. Types include Repulsion, Flame, Sword, Pledge, and Commendation from Bloodfang and Collector. Japanese copy uses 美徳.

Lands of Dusk

The battlegrounds Bloodsworn are summoned to. Network Test Ver. uses one land, Lowanro City, with a clock tower, cathedral, cave, forest, and lake.

House of Night

The hub for character select, Battle Remembrance, Archive, Courtyard practice, and matchmaking. Players return here for rewards after a match. Japanese copy uses 夜の館.

Kin

Compacted allies summoned from Ring, Blade, or Eye circles. Eight kin exist in the network test. A new compact breaks the previous one. Japanese copy uses 眷属.

Sigil

A relationship or objective etched onto a Bloodsworn that can award Virtue. The test includes four Sigils and the guide says they can be changed freely in the release version. Japanese copy uses 烙印.

Goldblood Stake

Consumable that restores Bloodsworn HP. If you have fewer than two uses when you die, they replenish to two remaining. Japanese copy uses 黄金血の杭.

Powers of Blood

Selectable powers gained from great foes and trespassers. You pick one of two options. Up to five can be manifested and swapped in the Blood Manifestation menu. Japanese copy uses 血の力.

Grail / Moon Blood Bestowal

The force that culls Bloodsworn in Phases II and III and beckons three to the final fight. Each of those three receives two lives plus HP from Virtue. Alliances disband. Moontears flow for one.

Where to read more

Dusk Battles is the phase-by-phase match manual. Virtue is the economy table. Bloodsworn is the six-kit roster. Lands of Dusk covers Lowanro without a fake map. Switch 2 covers platform, NSO, and the 2026 window. Network Test covers application windows and session blocks. If a word on those pages is unclear, return here rather than rereading the same definition in every article.

Official Japanese pages keep the Latin title The Duskbloods plus the reading ダスクブラッド. This glossary does not replace that title with a fan translation. Storefronts in French, Spanish, and Mexican Spanish also keep The Duskbloods. That is why every locale on this site brands with the same official game name. Test words versus retail words

Network Test Ver. is a download name. Casual Match is the playlist the test actually ran. Ranked Match is a hub label that stayed dark. Bloodbound Alliances is a rule that keeps pairs into Moon Blood Bestowal. Standard and No Alliances are the other two rules. Those five phrases are operations vocabulary. They sit on the Network Test page and in the Dusk Battles rule table rather than as extra glossary slugs, because they are matchmaking settings, not lore terms.

Goldblood Stake replenish-to-two-on-death is a manual rule, not flavor. Powers of Blood capped at five manifested is a menu rule. Kin circles named Ring, Blade, and Eye are a map rule. If a community wiki invents a sixth Power or a ninth kin, this glossary will not follow it without a first-party page. The same bar applies to Bloodsworn names beyond the six test kits: “over a dozen” is a count, not a list.

Open each details row for the Japanese reading where Creators Voice or the campaign guide supplies one. Lands of Dusk and the grail line have no extra kana in the sealed term set, so they appear in English only. That is a source gap, not a translation. Do not machine-render a reading the official pages did not print.
